A Kansas high school physics teacher was arrested after repeatedly clapping during a city commission meeting over a controversial data center proposal. Lux Claridge, 37, was taken into custody after applauding speakers who opposed zoning changes for the proposed Flint Hills Digital Campus in Emporia. Before public comments began, commissioners warned attendees that clapping, snapping, and other disruptive behavior would not be allowed. After officials issued a final warning, Claridge continued clapping and was removed from the meeting by police. “It’s not really deterring me from speaking out or I guess, clapping.”
