Barn swallows are aerial acrobats. They fly low and fast, skimming ponds and fields, where they scoop up quick meals of flying insects. They can be distinguished by their long, forked “swallow tail,” their orange and blue colors. They’re the most widespread species of swallow in the world, found on every continent except Antarctica.
