Two pedestrians died in separate incidents recently on Marion County roadways, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The man was struck by a sedan driven by a 28-year-old Reddick man who wore a seat belt and was not injured. The victim, whose hometown was not provided, died at a local hospital, the press release stated. The second fatality happened July 28, around 1:25 a.m., on Interstate 75 at the U.S. Highway 27 overpass (mile marker 354), according to the FHP. According to the FHP Crash Dashboard at flhsmv.gov, there have been 45 fatalities on Marion County roadways, three of those pedestrians, from Jan.1 to July 22, based upon preliminary data.
