Hamptons Sweat Fest debuts August 7 to 9, bringing 30-plus fitness classes across the East End together to fund cancer research. The event benefits The Beljanski Foundation, a nonprofit that has funded research into natural, non-toxic cancer treatments since 1999. “The mission of the Beljanski Foundation is to fund cancer research leading to natural, non-toxic ways to eliminate cancer cells without harming any healthy cell,” said Sylvie Beljanski, the foundation’s founder and executive vice president. The foundation’s current research focuses on cancer stem cells, the slow-dividing cells responsible for cancer recurrence and metastasis that can evade chemotherapy. All proceeds from Sweat Fest will support the foundation’s upcoming prostate cancer stem cell study.
