Nethy Bridge leaders continue to provide wildfire support despite community hall ‘eviction’

Local leaders in wildfire-threatened Nethy Bridge say they will remain at the heart of local support despite being ‘evicted’ from the community hall.
On Monday, community leaders from the Cairngorms National Park, the Highland Council and Nethy Bridge and Vicinity Community Council met there with fire chiefs to discuss the wildfire threat.
“The very same community centre where the community have raised in excess of £30,000 (at the time of his comments) to provide food and respite for exhausted firefighters.”
Fire chiefs ‘grateful’ for community supportThe Nethy Bridge community centre has been abuzz with activity, providing food and sustenance to fire crews on the ground.
A fundraising campaign, set up by the local community council, has raised more than £52,700 to support the community venture.
