TAOS, N.M. – The Town of Taos is asking residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve water due to problems with the town’s water storage. Taos leaders said crews are working to restore the town’s water storage capacity after a series of issues caused water levels to drop to critically low levels last weekend. According to Taos officials, utility crews discovered a malfunction in the town’s automated water monitoring and control system which contributed to the problem. Taos leaders said these problems led to some residents experiencing little or no water pressure the past few days. Town leaders do not have a timeline for when water storage levels will be fully replenished.
