MENLO PARK, United States: WhatsApp has introduced browser-based audio and video calling, call transfers between devices, waiting rooms, faster high-definition video and noise suppression as part of an update to its calling service. Okay News reports that users can now make and receive one-on-one and group audio or video calls directly through WhatsApp Web without downloading the desktop application. A separate noise suppression feature reduces background sounds so that a caller’s voice can be heard more clearly in busy or loud environments. Users can control noise suppression through the settings displayed during an active call. WhatsApp said the web calling update offers the same privacy protections available through its mobile and desktop applications.
