Slough’s Youth Justice Service (YJS) is responsible for making sure children who have been involved in crime or are at risk of crime are looked after. The service will have another inspection in autumn this year, so improvement needs to move forward although some work is already underway. Donna Briggs, head of service for adolescence support services and Slough Children’s First, said: “We work with our children as best as we can. Ms Baig said: “They’re not necessarily known to us – they’re not known to youth services, which is a problem. A ‘large’ issue at the time of the inspection into Slough’s Youth Justice Service was that key roles were not filled.
