Man returns books to library loaned to grandfather 116 years ago

Mr O'Sullivan, pictured, visited Llanrwst library in June to return books his grandfather Walter Griffith Owen had checked out in 1910.
The books, dating back to 1984, were originally donated to what was then the Llanrwst Public Library and Reading Room in the 1890s by English industrialist Benjamin Armitage.
Mr O'Sullivan returns the books to Llanrwst library (Image: CCBC)At the time, Mr Owen had loaned the books for just a week, but they remained in his family for more than a century before being returned this year.
The cost of the books being overdue was one penny a week, and Mr Owen would have been required to book a second week with the caretaker - so did he book 116 years?
"Mr Owen volunteered in the First World War and later at Mulberry Harbour here in Conwy during the Second World War.
