ReportLAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Secretary General Ameer-ul-Azeem passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with cancer, bringing to an end decades of dedicated religious, political, and organizational service within one of Pakistan’s leading Islamic political parties. Born in Lahore in 1958, Ameer-ul-Azeem began his political journey through Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. Throughout his career, Ameer-ul-Azeem held several important positions within Jamaat-e-Islami, including Central Secretary for Information, Ameer of Lahore, and Secretary General of the party’s Lahore chapter. In 2019, he was appointed Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, where he played a central role in strengthening the party’s organizational structure, policy direction, and grassroots network across the country. Party leaders said Ameer-ul-Azeem remained steadfast in carrying out his duties until his final days despite his illness.
