Lyrically, “Good Times Bad Times” is a coming-of-age story about the ups and downs of love and relationships. Although Led Zeppelin became famous for rarely releasing singles, Atlantic Records issued “Good Times Bad Times” as the band’s debut U.S. single, backed with “Communication Breakdown.” Interestingly, despite its popularity, “Good Times Bad Times” was seldom performed live in its entirety during Led Zeppelin’s touring years. More than 50 years after its release, “Good Times Bad Times” remains one of the greatest opening tracks in rock history.
