In in addition to city/municipal elections and bond referendums (Cahrles City; Sumner-Fredericksburg), school board elections are also on the ballot in November. Meanwhile, anyone seeking election to the New Hampton School Board this November will need to do so via a write-in campaign. In the case of school board elections, the deadline for candidates to file nomination papers with the School Board secretary was 5 pm last Thursday (09.18). Those candidacy papers then needed to be submitted to the county auditor’s office by noon last Friday (09.19). In this case, we applied the requirements of Iowa Code 277.4 regarding the late submission of School Board Nomination paperwork.”
