It’s “special election day” for the District 2 seat on the Floyd County Board of Supervisors. Former District 2 Supervisor Dennis Keifer passed away in June and, in July, Joshua Neupert was appointed to fill Keifer’s seat. Despite Neupert’s appointment, a petition of eligible voters in District 2 was filed to force the special election, set for Tuesday (09.23). Neupert is the Floyd County Republican nominee, with former Floyd County Treasurer Frank Rottinghaus running as the Democratic nominee. In-person absentee voting ended Monday (09.22) and mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the Floyd County Auditor’s Office by election day.
