A wildfire discovered east of Kamloops that sent plumes of smoke into the sky yesterday afternoon is now being held. BC Wildfire Service and Kamloops Fire Rescue crews responded to the blaze in the hills south of Lafarge Road and Dallas Drive in the Barnhartvale area, after it was discovered at about 1 p.m. Monday afternoon. According to BCWS, the fire has been considered held as of Monday evening, meaning it’s expected to remain within its current perimeter. An updated mapping of the wildfire has it pegged at about two and a half hectares, slightly down from a three hectare estimate on Monday.
