The Shuswap Memorial Cemetery Trails in Salmon Arm have been re-opened for public use after being closed by the city earlier this summer following two bear attacks. Then, on July 6, a second woman reported being charged by a mother bear while walking her dog on the trails. Users of the newly re-opened trails are advised to make noise while walking, give bears plenty of space and keep dogs on a leash and under control. Anyone who sees a bear on the trails is asked to report the sighting to the Salmon Arm Public Works department by calling 250-803-4080.
