The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has taken enforcement action against 42 domestic worker recruitment offices. Why did UAE fine recruitment agencies? Under the executive regulations of the Domestic Workers Law, agencies must process refunds within two weeks of a domestic worker being returned to the office or reported as having stopped work. Other Violations and PenaltiesThe remaining 29 violations were attributed to agencies that failed to follow approved controls and procedures governing domestic worker recruitment activities. Of the 138 licensed domestic worker recruitment offices currently operating in the UAE, MoHRE commended those that demonstrated high levels of compliance, describing them as key partners in improving the domestic worker recruitment system.
