Baramulla, July 28: Two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a young woman and recording the assault on video in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh said on Tuesday. Addressing a press conference, Singh said the survivor approached Police Station Baramulla on July 25 and alleged that she and a male friend had gone to Jalsheeri Drangbal for an outing when they were accosted by two men. The SSP said the accused allegedly harassed and assaulted the duo before sexually assaulting the woman. He said the accused also allegedly recorded the assault on video and later showed the footage to others. Singh said the investigation initially proved challenging as the survivor knew the suspects only by their first names.
