Former NFL quarterback Will Grier is returning to the Dallas Cowboys as a member of the coaching staff. Grier is joining Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer's staff as an offensive assistant, ESPN's Todd Archer reported Friday. Grier most recently signed with the Carolina Panthers earlier this offseason before announcing his retirement earlier this month. He will begin working with the Cowboys coaching staff when training camp starts July 29 in Oxnard, California, per DallasCowboys.com's Nick Eatman. Grier's father told The Athletic's Joseph Person his son considered taking a job on the Cowboys' coaching staff before deciding to sign with the Panthers instead.
