The Boston Red Sox are reportedly interested in multiple players ahead of the 2026 trade deadline. According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Red Sox plan to be "aggressive buyers" at the deadline and have their eyes on Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto as well as Washington Nationals shortstop C.J. The Red Sox didn't seem like they'd be buyers at the deadline earlier this season, as they held a mere 31-45 record on June 22. Neto is an intriguing option for the Red Sox, as he's racked up 19 home runs and 21 doubles to go along with 46 RBI this season. The 28-year-old is hitting .263 with 18 doubles, 23 homers and 51 RBI while boasting an OPS of .830 during his 2026 campaign.
