Even though Philadelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski is usually among the most aggressive executives when it comes to making talent acquisitions, the club isn't tipping its hand about anything specific that could be brewing leading up to the Aug. 3 trade deadline. Per The Athletic's Matt Gelb, one Phillies team source simply said "we are watching everyone" right now. Despite not being particularly helpful about positions they are looking to address, the Phillies have popped up in rumors for a starting pitcher, relievers and an outfielder. Philadelphia's outfield ranks last in MLB with an 81 wRC+ and a .290 on-base percentage. Starting pitching is already a strength for the Phillies with Cristopher Sánchez, Zack Wheeler and Jesús Luzardo as one of the best trios in MLB, but there are plenty of questions behind that group.
