Keith Schembri today claimed in court that Johann Cremona was offered up to €400,000 to testify in Yorgen Fenech’s favour. While testifying in Fenech’s murder trial, Schembri alleged that Cremona first told him he had been offered €200,000 to give evidence supporting Fenech. According to Schembri, the offer was later increased to €400,000. According to Schembri, during that meeting the lawyers told him to “help Yorgen”, to which he replied: “How can I help him more than I already have?” When prosecutors later asked Schembri to identify the “very important person”, the judge prohibited the media from reporting that part of his testimony.
