Ghanpur anicut overflows following rains in Sangareddy, MedakHeavy rains in Medak brought relief to farmers as Ghanpur anicut started overflowing and Singur project received its first inflows of the season. Since Medak district received incessant rains on Monday and Tuesday, water was flowing over the dam at Edupayala. Meanwhile, the Singur project has received its first inflows of the season. While Chegunta recorded 81mm rainfall, Medak town received 77mm rainfall, which resulted in waterlogging in several low-lying areas. Sangareddy and Siddipet also received considerable rain during the period, providing big relief to farmers amid the El Nino scare.
