— Six Lincoln Fire and Rescue paramedics were recognized on July 27 for helping save a child’s life using a pediatric emergency app during a critical call. Dr. Peter Antevy, the Florida emergency physician who developed the Handtevy app, presented the recognition. The app helps paramedics quickly determine age- and weight-based medication dosages and other treatment information for pediatric patients, allowing crews to deliver accurate care during emergencies, 1011 Now reported. “En route, you used crew resource management and the Handtevy app to identify your priorities, airway equipment, medication dosing, defibrillation settings,” Antevy wrote. He presented each of the six paramedics with a Handtevy challenge coin in recognition of their lifesaving efforts.
