The city of Cold Lake’s new Public Works Operations Centre has hit a construction milestone with foundations poured this week. “This project has been a long time coming with the earth works being started in 2022,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. The projects cost is just over $48 million and will include an administration building, fleet maintenance and storage bays, along with working bays for various departments, including roads, utilities, park and building maintenance. The department was designed to accommodate all current and future needs with future equipment and staffing needs in mind. “They’ve been patient, and they deserve a modernized workspace, and that’s exactly what we are delivering.”
