North Yorkshire Police says two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after officers on a routine patrol uncovered evidence of a break-in near RAF Leeming.
The incident took place on Monday evening (July 27) when officers on mobile patrol spotted a vehicle parked "in suspicious circumstances" near the viewing point, close to the airbase.
Further enquiries led police to a pub on Roman Road, near RAF Leeming, where they found evidence of a break-in - signs of forced entry and cash found scattered.
Chief Inspector Tom Ibbetson of North Yorkshire Police said: "These arrests demonstrate the value of our nightly proactive operational deployments across North Yorkshire.
"If you see suspicious activity, suspicious vehicles, or people acting in a manner that causes concern, please contact us straight away.
