Two community and service organisations from the Peel region will unite in Homelessness Awareness Week to raise awareness and connect people with support. From August 3 to 5 in Mandurah Forum, local service providers will host information stalls where people can learn more about homelessness and the services available throughout Mandurah and Peel. During 2024–25, specialist homelessness services supported almost 289,000 people across Australia, while about 129,000 requests for assistance went unmet. “The problem is magnified with the cost of living leading to additional people presenting to homelessness services for support. We commend all the specialist homelessness services, and recognise that the demand is high, and times are tough.”
