King Edward VIIBorn Albert Edward on November 11, 1881, he was the eldest son of Queen Victoria. King Edward VII fostered good relations between Britain and other European countries, particularly France, for which he was popularly called the “Peacemaker.” During the reign of King George V, standard coins minted for Jersey were limited to the 1/12-shilling denomination, as referenced in the Standard Catalog of World Coins. His son Edward would succeed him as the highly controversial King Edward VIII.
