The owners of The Moat House, in Corporation Street, say they are “committed” to opening up again. Star Pubs have recently carried out internal maintenance works and are looking at refurbishment work to enable it to welcome back customers. A Star Pubs spokesperson said: “The Moat House is a beautiful old pub in a great location, and we are committed to reopening it. “Once the refurbishment plans for the pub are confirmed, we will be in a position to provide more detail.” The company’s website says the Moat House will be transformed into “a premium drink-led, town centre pub full of style” through a £580,000 refurbishment project.
