The remarks come amid growing uncertainty among motorists after several drivers reported receiving instant traffic offence notifications despite ongoing court proceedings affecting parts of the enforcement programme. However, NTSA Director General Nashon Kondiwa previously clarified that the court proceedings affected only the disputed speed limit section and did not suspend the entire Instant Traffic Fines Framework, maintaining that the programme remains operational across the country. Beyond traffic enforcement, Kanja reaffirmed the National Police Service's commitment to professional, accountable and people-centred policing through institutional reforms, technology adoption, stronger investigations and closer collaboration with other justice sector institutions.
