For Chris, the appointment is also a reflection of the growing opportunities available through the Irish language. “There’s so much you can do, from teaching and translation to working with national organisations, music and the media. At 17, Chris began working as a tour guide at the Marble Arch Caves, where he spent six seasons while studying. I learned it off by heart and gave the tour in Irish,” added Chris. Now, as he prepares to join RTÉ, Chris believes his own story demonstrates the opportunities that can come from following your passion.
