PRNigeria has debunked a viral social media claim alleging that Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh obstructed or mishandled the investigation into the controversial death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The claim, which circulated widely on Facebook and other social media platforms, accused Jimoh of compromising the probe into Mohbad’s death, which occurred on September 12, 2023. That was before the case was transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (Force CID) in Abuja. Before his appointment to Lagos, Jimoh served in other policing roles, including Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports, with no operational responsibility for Lagos during the period under review. PRNigeria therefore declared the claim false, affirming that there is no factual basis for allegations that AIG Jimoh obstructed or “messed up” the investigation into Mohbad’s death.
