The Whistleblowers, Activists and Journalists Safety International Center (WAJSIC) in a comprehensive study compiled the fragile journey of the media in the three member Sahel states. The analytical study titled, The State of the Media 2025-Press freedom, journalists’ safety, forced exile, and the rapidly evolving media landscape in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The report concludes with a series of practical recommendations for media organizations, international partners and institutions supporting independent journalism in the Sahel.
