Earthquake epicentre (from USGS website)(CNS): A small magnitude 4.5 earthquake shook Grand Cayman this morning at around 8:42am. The government issued an alert through Hazard Management following what seemed to be three short quakes in succession. According to the USGS site, the quake location was 44km (28 miles) south-southeast of Bodden Town at a depth of around 10km, close enough to cause moderate shaking. Reports on social media indicated that some offices were briefly evacuated, but there was no indication at the time of posting that the small quake had caused any damage. When the all-clear was issued at about 9:45am, HMCI said there was no tsunami threat and no significant impacts were reported.
