The BBC has announced that Bridget Jones star Sally Phillips will take the lead in a new six part drama titled The Hairdresser Mysteries. Created by award-winning playwright and screen writer Jim Cartwright, the series will follow Phillips' character Lily Petal, a high-end hairdresser who leaves city life to run a small village hairdressers located at the top of a cobbled street. Filming for The Hairdresser Mysteries will begin this September across the West Midlands. The release date and further cast roles are yet to be confirmed but we'll keep you posted on all the details. In the meantime, look out for Channel 5's upcoming new murder mystery, Murder Before Evensong.
