Ajitha’s heart was transplanted into a 44-year-old woman from Kozhikode, who had been undergoing treatment at Metro Hospital. Along with her heart, Ajitha’s liver, two kidneys and two corneas were also donated. One kidney and both corneas were handed over to the Government Medical College, Kozhikode, while the other kidney and liver were successfully transplanted at Baby Memorial Hospital (BMH). With her family’s consent, the organ donation was coordinated by the Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS/KeSOTTO). Ajitha is survived by her husband P. Ravindran, children P. Sarangi and P. Sharath, and son-in-law Mithun, an officer in the Indian Army.
