A man from Bennington involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday is expected to be taken into custody once he is discharged from the hospital, authorities have announced. The Bennington Police Department states that 49-year-old Griford Saupin is charged with several crimes, including attempted murder. Authorities later concluded that a fight took place inside the vehicle prior to Saupin allegedly firing at the driver. The police department states that Saupin will be detained by the Albany Police and will be transferred back to Bennington after his release from the hospital to face the listed charges.
