It was a beautiful meeting of minds, misfits and musicians that spit out Bruce Springsteen’s masterpiece in 1975. At the Born to Run Symposium at Monmouth University a posse of players from that golden era converged in celebration of the album’s 50th anniversary. This was in conjunction with the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University located in Long Branch, a stone’s throw from the boardwalk of Asbury Park. Born to Run was Springsteen’s third stab at greatness after the commercial disappointment of his first two records, and the planet abided. Born to Run cover photographer Eric Meola was interviewed by fellow shooter Pamela Springsteen.
