The PSSS was established in 2019 by Laura Keill-Hall, Mandy Siitia and Zeprina Fale, Samoans living in New Zealand who wanted to help fellow Samoans.
Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga is also part of the project, through her charitable trust in Nuku’alofa.
“We try to make sure that they are prepared mentally and physically for the move before they do come across.
The project team expect at least 250 people to come through between now and February 2027, especially for those who have secured PAC visas.
“As I stated before this is a project set up to help Pacific islanders because of the challenges those who have come before us faced here in New Zealand and some are currently facing,” she said.
