Prime offers original TV and film series from Prime Video in Germany and Austria.
(Courtesy image)After more than a year, Amazon is pulling the plug on an experimental linear TV channel that delivered some of its original and licensed programming from Prime Video in Germany and Austria, the company confirmed this week.
All content that is currently offered through Prime in Germany and Austria will continue to be available through Prime Video on-demand, the spokesperson said.
Amazon launched the Prime channel in April 2025 as an exclusive feature for subscribers in the two countries.
In addition to Prime, the Prime Video app offers a handful of linear content channels from other broadcasters in Germany, including public service outlets ARD and ZDF.
