Taking place on Saturday, August 22nd, the pregame Bean Suppah Eating Competition will feature Chestnut eating baked beans, two red snappers, brown bread, and a mini whoopie pie before the Maine Bean Suppahs, an alternate identity of the Portland Sea Dogs, face the Reading Fightin Phils at 6 p.m.Portland Sea Dogs General Manager Jesse Scaglion said Joey Chestnut’s appearance will help celebrate the team’s Maine Bean Suppahs identity and a popular Maine tradition.
