MediaTek is expected to launch the Dimensity 9600 SoC this year, and a new rumor from China now claims there will actually be three versions. The 'proper' Dimensity 9600 will be offered in two variants, emulating what has been rumored that Qualcomm will do with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The Dimensity 9600 Pro and Pro Max will both be made on TSMC's 2nm process. The Dimensity 9600 Pro will probably be MediaTek’s answer to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Dimensity 9600 Pro Max will be the one to compare to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The new Dimensity 9600 lineup is expected to make its debut in devices launching this September, specifically the vivo X500 series and the Oppo Find X10 family.
