Srinagar, Jul 27: MLA Uri Dr Sajjad Shafi on Monday visited flood-affected areas in the Uri constituency to assess the damage and interact with affected families, announcing a series of relief and rehabilitation measures. He specifically commended the SDM Uri, SDPO Uri and the Army for reaching the affected areas in time and helping save lives. Announcing relief measures, the MLA said each affected family would receive financial assistance of ₹50,000 from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He also directed the Tehsildar Boniyar to identify available government land for allotting five marlas to eligible families for their rehabilitation. Assuring the affected residents of continued support, the MLA said every effort would be made to ensure timely relief, rehabilitation and measures to protect vulnerable areas from future flood-related disasters.
