The milestone marks a major step in Ladakh's journey towards becoming a fully organic region. Sharing the development, the Lieutenant Governor said the certification reflects the administration's commitment to sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation and improved soil health. He said the initiative is being implemented in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of promoting organic farming and protecting the environment. According to the Lieutenant Governor, strengthening organic farming and value chains will not only enhance the quality of agricultural produce but also improve livelihood opportunities for local farmers. The LG expressed confidence that the continued expansion of certified organic villages would establish Ladakh as a model fully organic Union Territory, setting an example for sustainable development in ecologically sensitive regions.
