Built around a reggae-inspired groove, synths and soft vocal samples, Blue Shadows features Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O and delivers a more restrained sound from the Australian electronic group of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Andy Szekeres. It follows their May single Together, featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and Prentiss, which marked their first new single in six years, as well as the Jamie xx collaboration Every Single Weekend, which arrived in June.
