The Manitoba government is expanding its economic presence in Europe and Mexico by establishing new trade representative positions to expand market access.
“These trade representatives reiterate our government’s commitment to diversifying our trade partners by expanding access for Manitoba businesses to markets in Mexico and Europe,” said Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses.
The European trade representative will focus on exploring trade opportunities with the United Kingdom and western European markets, while also building on progress made through the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
The Mexico trade representative will support a growing demand for Manitoba products in Mexico and build on Manitoba’s participation in the Team Canada Trade Mission to Mexico in February 2026.
“Today’s announcement is a welcomed step in advancing greater diversity in our relationships and trade markets, a necessary response to current global events,” said Loren Remillard, CEO, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
