Parents and caregivers can receive free help with proper car seat installation Thursday as part of National Child Passenger Safety Week. PennDOT will partner with local police departments and health organizations to host a child passenger safety seat checkup from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Target, 1600 N. Cedar Crest Blvd. The event marks National Child Passenger Safety Week, which started Sunday and runs through Sept. 27. Trained child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to instruct parents, grandparents, and other childcare providers in proper car seat installation techniques. Sean Brown, safety press officer for PennDOT District 5, is among the officials participating in Thursday’s event.
