Misogyny is often imagined as obvious hostility toward women: harassment, violence, discrimination, or openly declaring that women are less capable than men. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 later clarified that discrimination involving pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions constitutes unlawful sex discrimination. Another woman’s success may reveal something you want, but it does not require you to resent her for having it. There is enough creativity, leadership, purpose, and meaningful success for every woman in the world—although success will not look the same for everyone.
