FARGO, N.D. — MyPillow CEO and Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Lindell is aggressively defending his record on immigration following intra-party backlash, firmly rejecting accusations that he supports amnesty for undocumented immigrants.
The controversial plan outlined a six-month moratorium on deportations, giving undocumented immigrants whose only crime was illegal entry an opportunity to register for conditional work permits.
“I’m not for amnesty, I’ve never been for amnesty, and I never will be for amnesty,” Lindell emphasized.
Lindell also pledged to revoke the estimated 54,000 state ID cards issued to undocumented immigrants under current Governor Tim Walz.
Beyond immigration, Lindell is pitching a massive overhaul of the state’s finances.
