A father and daughter died after getting into trouble in the sea off a popular beach, police have confirmed. Emergency services including the RNLI and coastguard were called to Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, at about 21:45 BST on Sunday after reports two people had been pulled from the water. Devon and Cornwall Police said a woman in her 30s and a man in his 60s, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, were pronounced dead at the scene. The force added officers were trying to locate a handbag belonging to the woman. Officers also said a file would now be prepared for HM Coroner.
