With the Berlin Pride parade attacker dead, I guess we’ll never know his motives

Yesterday, a German-born man named Abdul Ballout—and when I wrote “German-born,” I bet you were expecting a name like Fritz Shlangenbaum—drove a rented car into a huge Pride parade in Berlin, after which he attacked attendees with a machete. And now that Ballout is dead, I guess we’ll never know. For those who don’t pay close attention to German politics, AfD stands for Alternative für Deutschland or “Alternative for Germany.” But meanwhile, the German police will just be left guessing as to what really drove Abdul Ballout to target a gay Pride parade.
